OUTLOOK S.G.E - RESPONSIBLE TOURISM INITIATIVES
Outlook s.g.e is in the fortunate position to be able to give something back to the South Africa community by offering safaris to previously disadvantaged, handicapped children to South Africa's Kruger National Park.
Profits made from safaris with our guests enable us to afford these initiatives and our deepest thanks and appreciation go out to all our guests who have travelled with us in the past.
The safaris are offered on an annual basis to a company we work closely with, Eco Access.
Eco Access selects the children, aged between 12 and 18 years old and Outlook operates the entire safari at no cost whatsoever to the children. We have worked with partially sighted, blind and hearing impaired children and regard this opportunity as a truly memorable and humbling experience.
Typically our safaris with the children start and end in Johannesburg, just like our standard Kruger Park safaris. We drive down to a camp in Kruger known as Balule, this is a small satellite camp which allows us to interact on a very personal level with the children.
In general the kids have never been exposed to this kind of environment and it is obviously extremely exciting for them to see hyenas circling the camp at night, barely a few feet from their tents!
We spend two nights at Balule doing game drives in the Kruger and visiting the elephant museum at Letaba camp.
Our goal is not to only give the children an amazing wildlife experience but also provide an educational experience for them as our guides teach them all about animal behaviour, birds, trees and nocturnal sounds heard around the campfire at night.
We aim to continue our relationship with Eco Access in the future and also increase our initiatives to include other organisations.
Once again thank you!!! To all of you who have been on safari with us, you make this possible for us!
